Pioneering Co-Operative Music Forum & Festival BEYOND THE MUSIC today announces its 2024 edition with early bird tickets going on sale this week.

Under the strapline: “NO ARTISTS. NO MUSIC.” the groundbreaking event will build on a hugely successful 2023 debut to ask is it time for the Music Industry’s Great Reset?

BEYOND THE MUSIC 2024 will see pioneering changemakers, music and content industry leaders, politicians and the cross section of the world’s best new artists return to Manchester for its sophomore event 9-12 OCTOBER 2024. Early Bird ticket pre sale begins at 9am on Thursday 28 March ahead of the general on sale at 10am Thursday 28 March.

Setting itself apart from other industry events, BEYOND THE MUSIC 2024 is a Co-Operative, owned by its members, making it the setting for meaningful, honest and direct conversation, brought about with the intention of providing wide-ranging solutions and tangible change.

The inaugural 2023 event saw artists including Aitch, Rita Ora and New Order join founding members, including the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, the BPI, Co-Operatives UK, Co-Op Live, AO Arena, City Co, Factory International and Manchester City Council in putting the future of the music and content industry back on the agenda.

2024 continues to see the music and content industry beset with challenges that need urgent solutions: from an unsustainable economic model that is having a devastating effect on artists and grassroots venues; a blocked talent pipeline that has been exacerbated by a lack of music education; AI copyright threats that still have not been resolved; through to a damning government report on the culture of misogyny that pervades the industry. The long term prospect of these issues could be catastrophic if we don’t come together to protect the future of music.

As a global coalition, the music and content industry will gather at BEYOND THE MUSIC 2024 to discuss these issues in a series of summits to find solutions, innovate, and build an ambitious plan for the industry, championing human creative potential with a firm artist-first focus.
